Applications Sales Engineer – AG3163


Circa 30k + bonus + 5k car allowance




Scotland or North east England (home based)


The Role:

  • The successful candidate, who will report to the Managing Director, will have a good understanding of fluid-related products, with a strong applications engineering background. A key part of the role will be responsibility for growing the Scotland Territory.
  • This is a home-based role covering Scotland, you could be based in Scotland or the North East of England. He/she will also be capable, after appropriate training, of handling technical enquiries and providing estimates.
  • He/she will be supported by the Applications Engineer, Sales Coordinator, Managing Director and Executive Chairman all with significant tenure and experience within the industry.
  • Apply knowledge of the company’s equipment range to develop appropriate solutions
  • Grow Scotland markets by 15% in the first year
  • Maintain existing customer base and grow customer listing in the territory
  • Introduce the company’s range of represented and manufactured products to customers
  • Apply knowledge of flow equipment range to develop appropriate solutions
  • Find opportunities for bespoke designs to meet customers’ requirements
  • Be the first point of contact for the customer and assist in resolving issues where applicable
  • Maintain contact with customer after proposals have been made in order to ensure that the contract is won
  • Provide support for marketing campaigns
  • Act as an influential and integral part of the team, proposing changes to improve customer approaches and internal systems
  • Provide input for consideration in pricing decisions, technical information and customer characteristics for sales strategies
  • Prepare quotations and proposals in line with customer requirements
  • Prepare cost estimate and generate pricing in line with company guidelines
  • Communicate with suppliers/manufacturers on technical and commercial issues where necessary



  • Technical experience in the following:

o                       Pressure final element instruments

o                       Flow instruments

o                       Control Valves

o                       Valve Actuators & Controls

o                       Relief Valves

  • Prior experience in a ‘Sales’ role with similar product
  • Good inter-personal skills and results oriented.
  • Margin conscious sales approach.
  • Meticulous and dependable with customers.
  • Share information with other sales colleagues internally, a good team player.
  • Proficiency in PC, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word essential.
  • Proficient in operating within a Business software (CRM, SOP) environment, preferably Pegasus Opera II
  • Full & Clean Driver’s License
  • A Recognised Technical qualification in Instrumentation/Electronics/Industrial or other related field of Engineering.
