Ensure that all Request for Quotation (RFQ) are logged accurately on to the sales CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System and provide feedback on quotes as required.
Review the RFQ package to determine best outcome, based on customer specification, competitive situation, their capabilities and supply chain.
Prepare and issue enquiries to selected vendors, evaluate their proposals and ensure that high quality, compliant proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timescales.
Negotiate with customers and suppliers attending Bid Clarification Meeting (BCMs) where appropriate;
Review customer Purchase Order (PO) against project quotation, and associated clarifications, for compliance both technically and commercially;
Process orders into SAP ERP system ensuring all relevant information is included where necessary to communicate the order requirements to their suppliers and colleagues in other parts of the business.
Participate in pre-award meetings, Kick-off Meetings (KOM) and pre-inspection meetings (as required) with customers, suppliers and Project and Order Management to ensure customer and the company are fully engaged and aligned with project requirements.
Provide support to Project and Order Management to ensure successful completion of the order;
Continuously review and pursue process improvement opportunities.
Be a key and valuable member of the Bid Management team, providing regular and positive contributions at departmental/management meetings.
Develop strong working relationships with the Line Manager, colleagues, customers, Project and Order Management, UK management team and their staff, peers within the rest of the Bid Management organization both regionally and globally, Financial Shared Services.
Qualification in an engineering discipline or clear demonstration of relevant experience.
A proven track record of managing major project work, including exposure to the EPC contractor community.
2 years of experience selling within a multi-product line engineering business.
Strong presence with good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to deal confidently at all levels.
Ability to work in a complex organization, liaising with multiple offices and plants to deliver results in accordance with strict deadlines;
Ability to travel (possibly at short notice) around 15% of the time.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Excel, Work and PowerPoint] is essential;
Confident and proficient knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
