Business Manager – MPA (DW3140)


£50k + bonus



The Company: Manufacturers’ of high-precision instruments for chemical analysis


The Role:

  • Reporting to the Sales Director
  • To manage and plan the sales strategy for the company’s UK’s Products
  • To provide technical and sales support for the UK and Ireland
  • Adequately design instrumentation and integration into customer processes
  • Project Management of integrated systems
  • Demonstrations of MPA equipment
  • To design and implement marketing for MPA products
  • Commissioning of systems when required
  • To provide support for your colleagues in the MPA Department. This will entail working in other areas of the UK and Ireland when requested.
  • To maintain regular contact with both the Sales Director and Marketing Manager keeping them up to date with anything they should know about.
  • To ensure all relevant Activities are completed on the CRM to an acceptable standard and in a reasonable time.
  • To ensure that all demonstration equipment and trailer you are responsible for is looked after to a high standard.
  • To maintain a level of demonstration equipment which will allow you to carry out your work effectively and efficiently while minimising operational costs.
  • To reflect a professional image for the company, in terms of your appearance, behaviour, function and attitude towards the job and company.
  • To communicate, and where appropriate work efficiently and effectively, with all your colleagues in Sales, Service, Technical and administration.

Sales and Marketing:

  • To drive the MPA team to promote and sell MPA products:
  • Overall responsibility for meeting MPA sales targets
  • Prospecting, lead generation, and opportunity management
  • Generation of detailed and accurate quotations
  • Work with marketing to provide sales tools for MPA Team
  • Maintain the CRM for marketing campaigns and sales opportunities for MPA products
  • Provide an accurate forecast for monthly and quarterly sales opportunities for MPA products
  • Demonstration of all MPA products to a high technical standard
  • Regular joint visits with the account managers to promote the MPA products
  • Work with Spectroscopy Business Manager for online NIR sales processes
  • To set and implement Benchmarking for MPA.
  • Co-ordinating equipment, application work, project priorities and customer trials/evaluations
  • Regular meetings with marketing to design a strategy with SMART objectives to promote the MPA products
  • Provide telesales campaigns to promote the MPA products

Technical Support:

  • To provide technical support for the team.
  • The company’s Post sales as requested including helping with installations and post installation customer application issues where applicable
  • Address technical questions about the techniques, applications and instrumentation.
  • Training for MPA team on the techniques and instrumentation you are responsible for


  • Direct management of the MPA Sales Specialist to provide the most efficient and productive use of their time
  • Human resources responsibility for the MPA Sales Specialist with respect to holidays, sickness, disciplinary and all other aspects of this.
