Business Development Manager (Reliability) – AG3217


£44k-£50k + 15% commission + company car



Location: North UK (Covering Newcastle down to Coventry)


The Role:

  • Be an active member of the organisation, working with the team to service existing accounts and develop new site opportunities.
  • Interface with the wider organisation to realise maximum order potential for Reliability Solutions.
  • Promote the sale of products and services throughout the designated area ensuring consistency with the strategic plan whilst embracing a solution led sales approach.
  • Drive the Reliability and Plantweb Solutions messaging both internally and externally.
  • Meet or Exceed the aggressive divisional growth strategy and utilise innovative technologies and sales programmes to quickly increase market share
  • Understand customer business drivers and goals and keep up to date with customer’s business situations
  • Develop relationships at different levels within a customer organisation to facilitate sales of large high value asset optimisation solutions
  • Be fluent in discussing maintenance, availability and throughput with high level customer contacts
  • Proactively use the company sales tools including CRM Business Management tool, Strategic Account plans, ICE 3.0 and Solution Selling models to maximise effectiveness in the field.
  • Always practice a “Think Customer” culture.
  • Interface with internal sales teams, operations support and project management to ensure customer deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate with Cluster Leads, Site Team Leaders, Project and Account teams to maximise Reliability Solution participation on Strategic Accounts.
  • Deliver monthly sales forecasting and an annual budget forecast.
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal and company requirements regarding Trade Compliance and Ethical Business practices.
  • Other responsibilities or tasks that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed

  • Educated to HNC and/or Degree level in Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experience of operating within the Vibration Monitoring, CBM and Machinary Health industry.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of selling Machinery Health and CBM into relevant industries.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of Plant Reliability, Operational Procedures and Condition Based Maintenance strategies.
  • Subject matter knowledge in the Oil & Gas, Refining, Chemical, Life science and Marine industries preferred.
  • Background and experience in Sales and Engineering
  • Proven track record of direct selling in a B2B environment
  • Demonstrate a consultative approach to selling
  • Good understanding of business drivers behind process plant automation and of decision process used
  • Experience of developing successful cross functional relationships internally, within a matrix organisation advantageous
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • English fluency to business standard essential
  • Computer literacy essential with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Excel, Work and PowerPoint] and business tools (i.e. CRM) essential
  • Ability to travel in order to fulfil duties of the role essential and must include a full UK Driving License
