Business Development Manager (AG3182)


£40k - £45k + company car + bonus




The Role:

  • The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and winning new and growth opportunities for Vacuum and Over Pressure Pumps, Systems and Services in their designated target market segments and geographical regions, with particular attention being given to the defined products and services targeted for growth.   
  • With an overall business goal to double the size of the business in 5 years, the job holder will be targeted to deliver the necessary growth in revenue, net new customers and value-added mix (more pump+, standard systems and services)
  • To do this the job holder will maintain knowledge about the strategy, products and aims of the Company.
  • They ensure that high quality, value adding solutions are provided to both customers and personally developed prospects or any provided leads by undertaking effective planning, implementing their monthly business plans, area performance monitoring and personal training & development. 
  • They will be instrumental in creating added value solutions for their customers, working closely with the Technical Solutions team to do so.
  • The Business Development Manager should contribute to the evaluation of feedback from customers and providing suggestions for and implementing improvements.
  • The role-holder will spend much of their time at customers and the expectation is 30 to 40 quality customer visits per month with a strong bias to new/growth opportunity development.
  • They will always seek to sign service agreements as part of deals to win pumps and systems.
  • Overall the Business Development Manager is the driver of Vacuum and Over Pressure Pumps and Systems in targets market segments in their area.



  • Engineering / Technical Degree / HND or demonstrable direct experience in vacuum products and services
  • Commercial / sales
  • Product / Market segment and application
  • Ideally operated within a sales environment previously, focused on solution selling in an industrial B2B environment.  
  • Has a sound knowledge of vacuum pumps or similar product, or can clearly demonstrate the capability to do so
