Technical Sales Engineer (RB2613)

Salary:

£30,000+ basic (negotiable depending on experience and background) + uncapped commission and benefits

The Company:

A well established and recognised distributor of engineering cutting tools. The supply a full range of engineering cutting tools to various industries and market sectors.

 

Requirements:

  • Territory Sales background ideally within the South East area, although sales experience is first choice, they will consider someone from either production and shopfloor with a desire to move into technical sales
  • You must be from the Cutting Tools industry
  • This role requires extensive travel within the allocated sales territory, which may include the need to make overnight stays in order to meet the overall objective of the role.
  • From time to time, there is also a requirement to travel both within and outside of the UK to attend client meetings and training.

 

The Role & responsibilities:

  • Reports to External Sales Director
  • Working as part of the external sales team to actively promote the company and as a supplier of choice.
  • Working to provide customer focused solutions to ensure that team and individual sales targets are meet.
  • Using a variety of soft skills to listen to and assess customers tooling requirements, with a view to ensuring exceptional customer service at all times and selling a solution.
  • Provide clients with commercially focused, practical and technically sound advice on their tooling needs and highlight the ways in which our products can enhance their manufacturing process
  • Actively seek to increase our client database with a view to increasing sales figures both in volume and gross profit
  • Provide weekly reports to the management team on current performance and outstanding issues
  • Provide weekly call pattern sheets to the sales management team, highlighting and explain any significant changes in patterns
  • Actively seek and identify ways in which to promote and ultimately make sales of ancillary products, services and systems ( eg vend and tool management systems, shrink/ balancing machines)
  • Liaison with the internal support team to address any client issues or concerns
  • Operate within the company procedures and policies to ensure compliance with the quality standards and health and safety requirements.
  • Undertake training as required to ensure the upkeep on your own professional development; to expand your knowledge both within your field but also of the company (e.g. product knowledge)
  • All other duties as reasonably required to support the wider objective of the role
