Senior Project Development Engineer (DW3031)

Salary:

£30k - £45k

Location:

North West

Location: Manchester

 

The Company: The market Leader in Flow, Level, Pressure and Temperature Instrumentation.

 

The Role:

  • The Project Development Team is responsible for the identification, qualification, pursuit and acquisition of Projects for the company
  • The main focus is on ‘End User’ business. The individual is expected to build value in their offer to the customer, influence stakeholders and win business.
  • Responsibility for the ‘active’ pursuit of approximately 6 projects at any one time.
  • Management of individual and team prospect funnel during qualification/ development, tendering and negotiation
  • Take responsibility for risk management in both technical and commercial aspects of the role.
  • High quality customer liaison
  • Liaison with internal and field sales to work together to identify customer stakeholders and meet customer’s requirements.
  • To carry out contract review to ensure accurate handover of orders to Contract Management Team.
  • Ongoing product knowledge via formal training, on the job training, self-learning and e-learning.
  • Look for opportunities to add value – e.g. AVS, solutions additional equipment and services.
  • To fully understand a customer’s requirements and to translate this into a suitable engineered solution.
  • Travel throughout the UK to meet with customers, sub suppliers and stakeholders.
  • During periods on customer sites, adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments and method statements as appropriate.
  • Full administration of the company Opportunity Management using Salesforce.com CRM package.

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified to a minimum of ONC/HNC level, ideally with a relevant engineering degree.
  • Detailed knowledge of all company products and process industries
  • Knowledge of Control & Automation, both practical and application orientated
  • Extensive Sales Experience –Project Tendering and customer selling.
  • SAP/Salesforce / PEA/ Excel
  • Company and third-party product knowledge
  • Company strategic solutions (UK CoC focus)
  • Risk and hazard control
  • Department QA procedures
  • Working knowledge of Standard 201
  • Awareness of the Company’s Quality, H&S and Environmental policy
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good Negotiation Skills
  • Appreciation of Commercial Terms & Conditions
  • Good networking skills
  • Sales Skills
  • Articulate with an eye for detail
