This is a field based direct to customer sales function.
An Account Manager has budget responsibility for the Fixed Gas Detection Systems products portfolio and will be expected to manage, retain and grow business opportunities with the allocated customers in the designated region. The sales region encompasses Scotland selling into the Oil & Gas industry

Sales of all company products and services associated with the defined sales region with special attention on:
Growth in Market Share
Present and sell company products and services to existing customers
Prepare action plans to monitor and prioritise
Create propositions for customers based upon value rather than cost
Follow-up on leads (coming from e.g. trade shows) marketing publications
Ensure that the sales and profit targets are achieved
Ensure an efficient territory planning
Pricing / Customer Profitability
Ensure the profitability of every customer
Ensure that discounts are within agreed limits
Monitor and prioritise upcoming tenders
Update and validate all opportunities on CRM system
Coordinate internal teams of expertise in a number of disciplines to address the customer’s needs and issues
Maintain and build relationships with existing and potential customers at all levels of the organisation
Develop plans to increase intimacy with key customers and arrange visits by appropriate company personnel
Identify and resolve (potential) conflicts with customers
Prepare for presentations, proposals and sales contracts for customers
Where necessary ensure the involvement of / coordination with Sales Management, Product Specialists, Service, Internal Sales, etc.
Present the company’s core values in front of customers
Degree educated ideally in a technical discipline combination with sound commercial skills
Business to Business sales skills, preferably gained within the industrial safety market
Experience of selling into Oil & Gas industry
Understanding of industry standards & regulations
Experience of selling wireless instrumentation
IT literate and knowledge of Microsoft office
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others
Ability to handle / solve conflicts by adopting a win-win approach
Good presentation skills
Ability to create and edit written material (customer communication, offers, etc.)
Self-driven, proactive approach with a good ability to prioritise and work without close supervision
Full and current Driving licence
Willingness to travel extensively on a flexible schedule, including some overnights.
Other tasks as requested by your immediate line manager.
